The Panasonic Lumix DC-GH5 is the fifth in the company's industry-changing video and stills 'hybrid' lineup. With its 20MP Four Thirds sensor and deep video-centric feature set, it looks likely to pick up where the GH4 left off as a favorite of indie filmmakers and photographers whose interests venture into the realm of motion picture work. The studio photo is unfair; the GH5 image was taken with the excellent Olympus 45mm f/1.8 but the GH5 II with the much better Leica f/1.2 lens. True, both are taken at f/5.6 but the Leica is much sharper and produces better contrast and is less prone to resolution extinction.Panasonic GH5 is one of the worst cameras I own considering the overall appearance of the photos (and one of the most expensive ones). It seemed nice that Silkiypix (great raw converter) is now free for use with Panasonic cameras.
But is it good enough to shoot real estate photography? Spoiler alert/tl;dr - Yes, it's good. This isn't a scientific review, just my opinion based on 20+ years of photography experience.
In our Panasonic Lumix GH5 review, we test a camcorder/camera hybrid that outputs 4K at 60fps and speedy 12-fps stills -- and doesn't miss a beat.
The Panasonic Lumix GH5, initially released in spring 2017, marks the latest iteration of their flagship video camera. It replaces the previously released GH4 and is Panasonic's top micro four-thirds camera. It has a 20.3-megapixel sensor without an Optical Low Pass Filter (OLPF) and Panasonic's best image stabilization technology to date.
The Panasonic Lumix GH5's maximum shutter speed is 60 seconds and there's also a Bulb option for exposures up to 30 minutes long, which is excellent news if you're seriously interested in night photography. The shot below was taken using a shutter speed of 30 seconds at ISO 100.
